Two Firefighters injured in Maxton, NC Accident

At approximately 1530, on January 15, 2010, tanker 5120 was responding to a structure fire when the driver lost control of the apparatus in a curve on Highways 130 and 83.  Two occupants were pinned in and later airlifted from the scene to a trauma center.  Specific injuries are unknown at this time.

Crooked Creek Firefighter hit on I-40

OLD FORT — A firefighter suffered serious injuries when he was struck by a vehicle while helping victims of a tractor-trailer crash that blocked interstate traffic for three hours.
Kirk Lunsford, a Crooked Creek firefighter, sustained injuries to his legs and head. His condition was not immediately available late Friday.
